Our After 3 Program is Stellar!

At HHCS, we are thrilled to offer a free after school program for our middle and high schoolers -- those in grades six to 12. Known as our ‘After 3’ Program, it runs from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Monday to Thursday each week.

After school programs are important for middle and high school aged students because they support social, emotional, academic and cognitive development, reduce risky behaviors, promote exercise and physical health, and provide a safe and supportive environment for teens and tweens. Nationwide studies show students improve their math and reading grades via after school program attendance and students improve their behavior in class. Free food for hungry, constantly growing students is a plus as well!

Nutrition, STEM, Art and Technology

While at our free HHCS After 3 Program our students enjoy a free meal, tutoring and even field trips. After 3 students enjoy nutrition lessons including preparing and sampling recipes and technology lessons include coding, movie making and editing. Our students also get hands-on with Sphero Bots -- which include programming and circuitry --  and mobile robots called RVRs. At After 3 students also partake in:

  • STEM lessons

  • Art classes

  • Entrepreneurial programs

  • Recreation

  • Parent Nights

Teens Assist

We have a teen assistant program at After 3 that enables our older students to act as aids for the program. Not only is this helpful to our staff and fun for our HHCS students, it also looks good on job applications and resumes.

After 3 is flexible and thoughtful to the needs of our community. Parents can pick up any time and there is a free school bus that runs at 6:15. Years of research has shown students who join after school programming earn better grades, and build stronger foundational skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. At HHCS, we believe in elevating every individual student we serve in our K-12 classrooms and afterschool via the After 3 program for our 6th-12th graders. It’s not too late to join us for the 2021-2022 school year. Enroll today!
