Many of our HHCS students earn their way into the Bedford County Scholastic Hall of Fame and we are extremely proud of this. While we focus on academics we also emphasize the social, physical, and social-emotional development of each child. HHCS respects and strives to meet the individual needs of all of our K-12 students in a caring and creative environment.
Our top down school culture is engaging and welcoming to all. We celebrate Earth Day and our very own Fun Day, and dedicate whole weeks to Random Acts of Kindness, Read Across America, and school spirit. We enjoy book fairs, pie sales, senior field trips, and give back to our community via blood drives and crafts we create for beloved senior citizens.
Our dual enrollment with Allegheny College of Maryland is very popular with our upperclassmen and some HHCS students’ earn as many as 30 credits. We also partner with voc tech programs so our students can learn about the culinary arts, welding and diesel systems, and the medical and cosmetology fields. Our high schoolers enjoy credits for work experience with our robust program that includes interviewing skills and regular evaluations from bosses.

Our HHCS Hornets enjoy baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, cross country, tennis, basketball, wrestling and cheer. Our clubs include National Honor Society, Yearbook Committee, Marching Band, Student Council, Flag Girls, Squiz and more.
